I braved the wilds of Barnes & Noble during a precious lunch break in desperate need of some therapy. There’s just something about those bookish havens that fills my soul with warm fuzzies and unmatched serenity. As a dedicated romance aficionado, I made a beeline for the romance section, and lo and behold, they had a smorgasbord of winter-themed romance novels on display. You can only imagine the sheer joy that lit up my heart! After fondling every book cover in sight, I laid my hands on Lovelight Farms, and after a quick glance at the back cover, I was convinced that this book held the power to infuse some much-needed romance into the holiday season. Fast forward to that fateful night at home – I nestled into bed, wiggled my toes with glee, and dove into the cozy embrace of that book. Ah, the things we do for love… and literature!
Blurb :

A pasture of dead trees, a hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons, and shipments that have mysteriously gone missing—Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.
In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, she enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, she might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on the application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only there is no boyfriend.
Enter her best friend Luka Peters. He just came home for some hot chocolate, and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process.
Lovelight Farms is a romantic comedy featuring a handsome freckled data analyst, a messy, optimistic Christmas-tree-farm owner, and a small town with the best hazelnut lattes on the east coast.
This sweet and steamy romance is a holiday happily ever after and the first book in a series of interconnected standalones following the three Lovelight owners.
My Thoughts:
The storyline seems very familiar, doesn’t it? It’s true that similar plots often revolve around a woman pretending to be in a relationship to achieve success. It’s interesting to ponder why women may feel the need for a man’s involvement in their success. Perhaps it’s a reflection of societal expectations. Despite this, the book delivers exactly what it promises. B.K. Borison skillfully crafts a playful, fun, and sexy story that is truly enjoyable. There were moments that had me bursting into laughter as I turned the pages. I adore Luka and Stella’s journey and how their friendship evolves into love, or perhaps reveals the love that was there all along. B.K. Borison excels at immersing you in the Christmas Tree Farm, where you can almost feel the winter chill, holding a cup of hot chocolate, bundled up in a cozy winter coat, fuzzy scarf, and ear muffs. The book maintains the right amount of romantic tension without going overboard. Overall, I wholeheartedly give this book a five-star rating and highly recommend adding it to your winter reading list. It’s also worth noting that this book is part of a series, so I’m looking forward to delving into the second book, “In The Weeds.”
Happy Reading Folks!
