Blurb:
For Grip and Bristol, love started at the top of the world on a Ferris wheel under the stars
But when that love is tested, will they fly or fall?
The Grip Trilogy charts the course of rising star Marlon “Grip” James and his manager Bristol Gray. From the beginning, attraction ignites between the struggling musician and his best friend’s ambitious sister. It starts with a kiss at the top of a Ferris wheel when they’re young, combusts into a tumultuous love affair, and matures into an epic love that defies each odd and defeats every obstacle.
My thoughts:
I needed a palette cleanser after trudging through ACOTAR. Thinking of an author who actually managed to impress me in 2023, Kennedy Ryan immediately sprang to mind. Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan was the absolute highlight of my reading year. Jumping on the Kindle app, I impulsively dove into The Grip Trilogy without a second thought. Grip and Bristol’s saga had me in its grasp from page one. I was so engrossed that I nearly pulled an all-nighter on the first day. This trilogy is a rollercoaster ride delving into fate, friendship, romance, and family, all neatly wrapped up with a provocative red ribbon. It’s unrefined, alluring, and uninhibited! My heart was firmly with Grip and Bristol throughout their journey. The trilogy’s vibe reminded me of the intense drama of the show Empire, especially with its focus on the music industry. This additional layer gave the trilogy a whole new edge.
Grip/Flow: This story sizzled with sexual tension and thrilling exploration. The enthralling connection between Marlon (Grip) and Bristol ignited with such intensity. Kennedy Ryan skillfully unveiled these captivating characters and sculpted their passionate love story. Marlon had me squirming with anticipation, pondering who could do justice to him in a movie. Kennedy absolutely nailed it!
Still: Well, well, well, did I shed a few tears while reading this one! I don’t want to spoil this section but it was very reminiscent of how I felt while reading Before I Let Go. You see how Marlon and Bristol tries to keep their love afloat and challenges. Relationships are work and you see exactly how much Marlon and Bristol invested in their relationship. This is a beautiful yet intense story.
Happy Reading Folks!
