Here Are My Five Reading Goals For 2024

So, here’s the deal. I was all geared up for 2024, ready to dive into some new books! I’ve decided to fully embrace my love for reading and make it my thing. Finally! It feels great to own up to it. I can’t believe I avoided this for so long, but hey, I’m here now. I want to share my reading goals for this year to give you an insight into what I’m up to! And who knows, maybe it’ll inspire you on your own reading journey. Let’s do this!

Read 45 Books

Okay this number may not seem like much, but trust me, it’s totally doable. Had I set a super high unrealistic number, I would have been focused more on reaching that number instead of thoroughly enjoying the books that I read.  I’ve read 22 books so far!

    Explore Different Genres

I’ve been all over romance books this year, like seriously, A LOT. Slow burn, smut, fantasy fae smut, dark romance – you name it, I’ve read it. But now I’m craving some fantasy, thriller, and horror books for the rest of the year. I feel like with fantasy books, you really need to dive into the story because they’re packed with so much world building.

I’m not really feeling history books, memoirs, or self-help books this year because they can be a bit of a downer, you know? There’s already plenty of heaviness going on right now. I’m all about escapism this year. But hey, if one of those kinds of books really grabs my attention, I might just give it a go.

    Track My Progress

I wanted to use my iPad mini as a digital journal, but honestly, guys, I am not that tech-savvy. I dedicated a section of my physical journal to keep a log of the books that I am reading and I love it. It works for me. If digital journaling works for you, that’s great, boo!

Read more E-books and borrow from the library!

I got rid of all my physical books and only kept my daughter’s children’s books. I just didn’t have the space for all those books and it stressed me out. Reading on my iPad mini and borrowing from the library is so much easier! I’ve been enjoying both a lot more than buying physical books. Plus, it saves me a ton of money!

    HAVE FUN

This is a huge goal because, let’s be real, sometimes we just read books for the sake of it and not because we actually enjoy them. Also, can we talk about how so many of the books recommended on BookTok are not our thing? Haha! I usually just wing it at the library and pick random books on Kindle Unlimited. If I don’t vibe with a book, it goes straight to my “Did Not Finish” list!

    Happy Reading Folks!
