Review of Losing Sight By Tati Richardson

BLURB:

Sports reporter Tanika “Nikki” Ryan is at the top of her game until she isn’t. Squinting at the teleprompter and flubbing lines, she loses her coveted Thursday Night football spot to a younger, less qualified woman—and that’s only the start of her troubles. After her impaired sight leads to an accident nearly costing her life, Tanika finds herself in the office of handsome widowed optometrist Gideon Miles. There, mysterious circumstances lead Tanika to an enchanted pair of glasses, changing her world—and Gideon’s—forever. With help from her “boss chick village” and a bit of magic, Tanika finally learns to see the love that’s right in front of her eyes.

MY THOUGHTS:

Tati Richardson has done it again, and let me tell you, Losing Sight is everything! This book was such a warm, beautiful, heart-wrenching experience, I’m still thinking about it long after turning the last page. I don’t often get to say a book wrapped me in a warm blanket of peace and love, but that’s exactly how I felt reading this. If you’re looking for a romance that goes beyond the surface and truly tugs at your heart, this is the one.

Gideon and Tanika are the kind of characters you feel in your bones. Gideon, still healing from the loss of his wife, Lauren, is so easy to root for. I felt for him deeply, watching him struggle with his grief and his hesitance to love again. And Tanika? She’s a force. I loved seeing her own her career, her life, and her strength. She’s everything I wanted her to be—and more. She deserves both the career and the love she’s been holding out for, and watching her find that balance with Gideon was like seeing the perfect love story unfold in real time.

What I loved most about Losing Sight was how Tati blended so many elements that I adore: humor, friendship, sisterhood, a touch of the supernatural, and—yes—a slow burn romance that had me smiling instead of stressing. Seriously, the pacing of the romance was chef’s kiss. It wasn’t about rushing to a climax; it was about enjoying the journey, getting to know these characters, and watching them grow together. I wasn’t on the edge of my seat in the usual way, but I was invested. I was there for every laugh, every tender moment, and every bit of tension. It was perfect.

And let me just say—Losing Sight has a REAL STORY. You know how sometimes romance novels can feel like they’re just about the chemistry (and the spice)? Well, don’t get me wrong, this book has its steamy moments, but it’s so much more than that. Tati gave us depth, a full arc, and characters who evolve. I don’t think I’ve read a romance quite like this in a while—one that had all the heart and none of the fluff.

I can’t wait for you all to read this when it drops in February 2025. It’s the kind of book you want to curl up with on a cozy evening, a mug of tea in hand, and just let yourself fall into the characters’ world. Trust me—you’ll finish it feeling full of love and light.

Five stars. A solid, no-doubt, YES.

Happy reading, folks!
