Four Swoon-Worthy Holiday Reads I Loved!

It’s officially cozy season, and nothing pairs better with a warm blanket, a steaming cup of cocoa, or coquito (more on that later) than a good holiday romance. So far, I’ve had the joy of diving into four books that gave me all the feels. From laugh-out-loud moments to heart-fluttering scenes, these stories have a special place in my holiday-loving heart. Here’s the rundown along with a favorite quote from each!

1. My December Darling by Lauren Asher

This novella is a chef’s kiss short but oh-so-sweet holiday treat! The banter between the characters was pure gold—sarcasm and wit so sharp, you just knew sparks were flying. Add in a slow-burn romance and it’s the perfect recipe for holiday vibes. It even made me crave coquito (and, oddly enough, a Lego set).

📖 Favorite Quote: ““I never said I was falling in love with anyone.” “That’s what we all say before it happens.”

2. Human Resources by Aria Daze

Talk about a fun, feel-good holiday rom-com! Aria Daze wrote the ultimate ode to short kings, and I was here for it. Dimi’s attentiveness and Brittney’s charm made my heart melt. It’s sweet, flirty, and perfect for when you need a little joy and a lot of laughs.

📖 Favorite Quote: “But I’d really like it if you’d spend Christmas Eve with me. We can watch all your favorite cheesy Hallmarks, drink peppermint hot cocoa, and have dinner. You wouldn’t have to do a thing..”

3. Syx and the City by Grey Huffington

Want to ring in the New Year with a bang? This novella had me in full NYE party mode! The spice? Perfectly balanced. The drama? Page-turning. And the cliffhanger? Oh, it’s the kind that makes you immediately grab the next book in the series. Trough is definitely book bae material, and I cannot wait to read more.

📖 Favorite Quote: “I must admit that I find it extremely inappropriate for the husband of my boss to compliment me in such a manner.” “Then, how should I compliment you?”

4. The Holly Dates by Brittainy Cherry

Saving the best for last! This book completely captured the magic of the holidays. The playful bartender-giving-dating-advice trope mixed with fake dating? Ugh, perfection. It was heartfelt, adorable, and had me swooning from start to finish. I’m already planning a re-read before the season ends because it’s that good. Somebody, please make this into a holiday movie!

📖 Favorite Quote: “Because you’re everything. You’re the sun, the moon, you’re the stupid snowman in someone’s front yard with the crooked carrot smile. You’re every good day and every crapy night and every in-between mundane afternoon..”

If you’ve read any of these, I’d love to hear your thoughts! And if not, consider this your nudge to pick one up. Happy reading, folks! 🥂✨
