I sat in front my cell phone and recorded a TikTok about All About Love by Bell Hooks. I talked about how much I enjoyed Hooks exploration of love and how it had me in my feelings. It was after posting this TikTok that I realized just how much I missed having a connection with others outside of social media. I missed a sense of community. I missed having someone to fan girl over books with. See, I used to do that all of the time when I was little girl. I would sit by this one particular tree in Middle School and read. I was “the girl that always sat by the tree reading”. They would say. I would talk to my friends at the time about each book too. Back then, everyone was into reading the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, the latest Harry Potter book or Holes. I guess I am telling my age here. I guess I am on this journey of healing my inner child and going back to doing all of the things that I loved to do. I decided to create a book club. So I am here to introduce you to the LavenderBlissOnline Book Club. I’m excited to create space to share our thoughts and reflect on books. I spent numerous times with a glass of my favorite wine, diving deep into a new book. This is why I decided to make all book club meetings a “sip & discuss”. It doesn’t have to be wine of course. I encourage you all to grab your favorite drink, sit back, relax and let’s talk! I hope you stay a while. I hope you join us.
