Okay guys, after months and months of losing my hair, I finally found the products that actually work. I am sooo excited to share them with you. I highly recommend giving these products a try if you are experiencing postpartum hair loss. If you’ve been following my journey, you’d know just how much my precious edges have suffered. Postpartum hair loss had my locs out hair looking like Stevie Wonder’s locs, hanging on for dear life. I went from having full thick hair during my pregnancy, to losing all of my edges around four months postpartum. My daughter is 15 months now, and after trail and error, I finally have growth around my edges. I formed new locs around my edges as well that are starting to budd. I know that I can re-attach some of the locs that I lost in the future, but let’s see how these new ones form. It’s all coming together.
I purchased this huge vitamin daily pill case from Amazon to make sure that I am consistent with taking all of my vitamins. Okay, maybe it was a total impulse buy but organization, patience and consistency are essential these days folks!
First and foremost, I must say, that you have to thank your good ole hormones for making your hair fall out. It’s amazing how hormones can cause so much havoc in our bodies mama! Our little bundles of joys are so so worth it but damnnnn couldn’t I keep the hair that I had when I was pregnant?! I digress.
I know what you’re saying, Nacia just tell me already. I GOT YOU. Check it out below:
SUPPLEMENTS
Let’s start with supplements- because it’s important to get to the root of the hair loss.
Multivitamins – Megafood Multivitamin for Women . I also love the Megafood One Daily Multivitamin for Women. I can not rave about Megafood enough. I love how all of their ingredients are organic and wholesome. The vitamin also gives me enough energy to conquer my busy work days and my toddler.

Walgreens Hair Skin and Nails Gummies- you can definitely purchase the name brand (Nature’s Bounty) since it does compare to it, but for some reason this Walgreen’s brand of hair skin and nail gummies, does not make me extremely thristy and doesn’t hurt my pockets. This has my hair growing so much and is a game changer. The only con I have with this product is that it grows hair everywhere! I already had facial hair that had me seeing my threading lady every weekend, but this product also caused me to have ingrown hairs! Sigh* It’ll have your hair growing for sure, but beware.

Collagen, Collagen, Collagen! Collagen is an absolute game changer. You can mix it with your water, tea or coffee. I usually put some in my mushroom coffee in the mornings. Just be consistent with it though. I found that I did start breaking out when I wasn’t consistent.

HAIR GROWTH TREATMENTS
Mielle Organic Rosemary Mint Hair Growth Oil– I noticed a lot of people rave about this on TikTok so I decided to try it and it did not disappoint! A little goes a long way. It also has amazing ingredients.

Heritage Rosewater- I like to use this as a hair moisturizer. This product has always been a staple in my hair care regimen even before I had my daughter. Add a few drops of vitamin E oil into the rosewater and it does a great job with providing hydration.

Castor Oil- The OG for ultimate hairgrowth. I find that not all castor oils are created equal though. Some vary in consistency. The following castor oils are my personal favorites:
Now Foods Castor Oil: https://amzn.to/339Blnb
Jamaican Mango & Lime Black Castor Oil: https://amzn.to/31KQ4ED
MOST IMPORTANT
DRINK A LOT OF WATER! I mean A LOT. If you’ve upped your vitamins like I did, you will need to make sure that you are hydrating your body. Coconut Water is also my best friend. I thoroughly enjoy going to Target and grabbing one of their coconut waters out of the fridge by the register. It’s soooo refreshing.
Also note, that I’ve had my locs in “Loc Petals” for a couple of months now as a protective style while I grow these edges back. Protective styles are a great way to nurture your scalp.
Here’s to growing out our edges and taking back our power in 2022!
P.S.: If you’re looking for a pill case, here’s the one that I have: https://amzn.to/3Feoi0V

This is what happens when you have locs and experience PPD
Hello friend! I hate to admit this, but this is my reality…I am still experiencing postpartum hair loss. I’ve lost over 15+ locs in counting. Now I know what you’re saying, damnnn Nacia, because I’ve said this to myself everytime I held a loc in my hand or anytime I massaged black castor oil in…
